Water Wells & Cisterns

Approximately every 14 seconds, someone dies from a disease brought on by unsafe drinking water. In 2006, a team of Fronterra geoscientists mapping the Nicaragua coast encountered the problem first hand. Mothers were washing their children in contaminated water, others were using the water for cooking and even for drinking. The Fronterra team found the same conditions again and again, sparking a resolution to improve the lives of these people and others in similar circumstances.

The gift of clean drinking water.

Fronterra Geosciences is partnering with Operation Blessing International to give the gift of clean drinking water to families and communities around the globe. The simple act of drilling a well to supply pure water can help save literally thousands of lives. Since 2000, OBI's Water Wells and Cisterns program has provided clean water for more than 2.4 million people, thanks to the completion of nearly 5,000 bore wells and 5,000 cistern projects. For these impoverished communities, the difference made by clean water is life-changing. Fronterra Geosciences is honored to partner with OBI in providing safe, clean water for these communities and their children.
