Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead geophysical team in an integrated approach by incorporating geological, petrophysical and engineering information into the geophysical analyses. Provide expertise in 2D & 3D seismic acquisition and data processing which incorporates technology effective for targeting oil or gas plays in both clastic and carbonate environments. Use a range of seismic interpretation approaches as determined by the business needs of the customer and individual projects. Provide expertise in advanced interpretative techniques such as rock and fluid properties analyses, seismic inversion, fault and fracture detection, geophysical input for reservoir modeling. Share technical expertise with geophysical team, and across disciplines. Mentor and coach entry level Geophysicists in the skills and techniques required to perform geophysical analysis. Work closely with other disciplines in the development of new services and applications as well as integrated multidisciplinary studies. Support the business development team in identifying potential new customers.
Skill Requirements:
Applicant must be proficient in seismic and well data loading, mis-tie analysis, synthetics generation, time-depth conversion, sequence stratigraphy, and seismic interpretation in various structural environments. Working knowledge of seismic attribute analysis is expected. Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills for delivering customer reports and presentations as well as relating the business impact of geophysical analysis to other disciplines. Proficient with commercial interpretation software such as SMT (Kingdom Software), Landmark Software (Landmark) and Geoframe (Schlumberger).
A clear and logical thinker with advanced level knowledge within the discipline and the ability to communicate and cooperate with team members, other disciplines and management. Job Requirements
Education, training, experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Geoscience or related Earth Science discipline with + 11 years experience or M.Sc. with 9+ years experience or PhD with 7+ years experience. Active member of professional associations. Knowledge of Spanish a plus, but not required.
